My family and I go into a full-scale preparation mode a few weeks leading up to Diwali. Be it cleaning our home in anticipation of welcoming Goddess Lakshmi or buying new clothes to signify new beginnings, every step involved is sheer bliss. I love rangoli art- colorful powders or rice, flower petals, that adorn our home in intricate patterns. It’s just an awesome way to bring out your creativity and invite goodness into your life.

No celebration of Diwali can be complete without food! This time around, I was involved in making the dishes for the first time. I truly loved those moments when mom and I made all those traditional sweets such as ladoos and barfis. Diwali means family. This time, a small puja was conducted with several people present and getting together for Lakshmi Puja, praying for prosperity and happiness. It’s the fun moments when stories are shared, and everyone laughs, all due to the festivity shared with family that makes this event worth recalling. I enjoy these times of bonding.Diwali Delights

The Joy of Giving

Another spirit of Diwali is a sense of giving. I spent the day of Diwali this year at a local shelter distributing sweets and gifts to everyone there. These people still remind me of the true essence of Diwali: sharing joy with others and making them smile.Diwali Delights: Celebrating the Festival of Lights

Reflections and Thanks

It is the hour of the twilight night, when firework lights up the sky. I take time out to think about the year gone by. Diwali is not only about gaiety; it is a time to cherish what one has and what one will have. I am thankful about my family, friends, and the opportunities that are in my hands to enjoy this year. This time makes me remind myself that I should cherish those moments and look forward with hope.

Conclusion

Diwali is a very beautiful tapestry woven of old traditions, love, and joy. I wait for every passing year to create new memories and see how the same traditions evolve in my life. Let us all, as we greet the festival of lights, carry the spirit of Diwali in our hearts throughout the year.
